The Berber village of Amtoudi is home to around 300 families and the village is built up around the fringes of the oasis palmeries. Farming is the main source of income for most people living in the village and the palmeries are capable of producing figs, apricots, almonds, olives and dates, vegetables, corn and barley providing for local needs and sold in nearby markets.
Amtoudi is most famous for its 800 year old granary, a structure which provides this view back down over the Amtoudi oasis.
