Sfenj (donut) Moroccan street food snack, Marrakech, Morocco, 2016–04-16. 

Essentially the Moroccan version of a fried donut and a very cheap roadside snack. They are deep fried rings of a yeast based dough, with a crispy outside and a fluffy centre which resembles slightly more of a bread texture. Powdered sugar, jams and honey aren’t always at the stands, it’s common for people to take them home, eat them plain or ask for an egg to be cracked into the middle while cooking in the oil. The stands are a little elusive sometimes but can usually be found around mid morning (around 11), mid afternoon, around tea time (5pm) and sometimes late at night (10pm).
