Thimmamma Marrimanu, Andhra Pradesh, India
THIMMAMMA MARRIMANU, INDIA - 28th October 2019 - Prayer offerings tied to Thimmamma Marrimanu banyan tree - the world’s largest single tree canopy. Andhra Pradesh, India.
Many believe that the tree has mystical powers and is able to bless childless couples with the gift of fertility. There is a very strong belief that if a person or couple ties a saffron ribbon, bangles or a small pouch containing natural offerings like leaves and spices to the tree, the goddess will bless them with fertility within one year of placing the offering.
